'Delulu' is a term youngsters are now using to describe people acting completely delusional, and even somewhat crazy, and I could not think of a better word to describe the guy in this story.

As much as families are important, you cannot be forced to become family with anyone. Sure, you often don't really get to choose your family, but how you feel towards these people in your heart is completely up to you, and no one can take that away from you. But still, that doesn't stop some people from trying.

The delulu guy in this Reddit story got this title after a crazy conversation he had with his soon-to-be stepkid (OP, original poster). OP is a 35-year-old man whose mom is now getting married to a 24-year-old, and if that isn't awkward already, this 24-year-old set OP down to a serious conversation asking him to start calling him 'dad'. If that is not completely delulu, I don't know what is.
