Harry Potter is one of those franchises that will never be forgotten. It doesn't matter if you decide not to read the books to your children or boycott the new Harry Potter series on Max. No amount of backlash now will ever cause the series to go quietly into the night. I think Harry Potter will have a trajectory not unlike Star Wars, where the people who went to premieres when the movies first came out will quietly scoff and roll their eyes at what the franchise will become, but it will continue to make millions and billions of dollars. I hope I live long enough to see Harry Potter enter the public domain. So much of the best art comes from a long-beloved novel entering the public domain, where anyone can do anything they want with it without getting sued.
